INDOT OJT Program & Application Updates

Source: Katie Daniels, INDOT contract compliance manager

USDOT & FHWA released new program requirements for the OJT program last year. I have been working diligently with FHWA & our development team to get these updates implemented. On Monday, March 24th, the OJT program enhancements will be launched. Please plan to log out of the application at the end of the day on Friday, March 21st so the updates can happen over the weekend.

I have attached the updated OJT application user guide that will provide step-by-step instructions for the system’s use. I have also attached the updated OJT program manual which explains the program in detail, including all the new requirements.

One of the new program requirements is that each prime contractor will have an annual hour training goal, which has been in place, as well as an annual trainee goal. You must meet both goals in order to have a compliant annul report. When the application enhancements go live, any 2025 partnership agreement currently in the system will be updated to include the new trainee goal. You will also see your main homepage of the application will now show your goals & your progress towards achieving them.

Another requirement is you will not be able to submit the partnership agreement without your approved training program(s) attached. For a union firm, this would be your union agreements for the unions signatory to. For a non-union firm, this would be your agreement with an approved training facility (ex. ABC) or if USDOL has approved your firm’s inhouse training program, it would be the program approval from USDOL.

There are other minor enhancements as well. Please read the updated OJT program manual to ensure you are able to meet all requirements.

Again, please plan to log out of the application at the end of the day on Friday, March 21st so the updates can happen over the weekend for implementation on Monday, March 24th.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you.

Some came for the golf. Some came for the networking. Some came armed with questionable swing mechanics and tremendous confidence.

Whatever brought them out, industry friends filled both courses at the 2026 ICI Golf Classic for a beautiful day at Pebble Brook. Browse a few highlights here, then head over to the Greg Kicinski Photography gallery for all the incredible team and action shots.

The South Bend Cubs knocked it out of the park with a 5-2 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Four Winds Field in South Bend last night. Who else won? ITT members who gathered for their summer social! Thank you to sponsors Butler Fairman & Seufert, Haulz Software, Rieth-Riley Construction and Superior Construction. They are the true MVPs ⚾ #indianatransportationteam #letsbuildINtogether 📷 ICI photo/Richard Hedgecock, CAE
