FROM THE CHAIR: Our Plan for the Years Ahead
During a strategic planning session in April, the ICI board took a close look at where the association stands and what members will need from us over the next four years. The message was clear. ICI is in a strong position, and our members value our work and want us to keep moving forward.
We developed a plan that focuses on long-term infrastructure funding, practical solutions to the issues members face and ICI’s industry leadership positioning. Funding is an urgent concern in today’s economic climate. ICI must help shape the policies and priorities that affect our member companies and keep them healthy and growing. At the same time, we’ll continue working with partners on labor, workforce development, regulations and project delivery.
This plan builds on what ICI already does well and prepares us for whatever comes next.

The work has already begun. Members will see the first phase of a new public awareness campaign in the coming weeks. We are also updating our technology and moving more systems to cloud- and web-based tools so staff can work more efficiently.
Supporting ICI through your membership dues matters, but there are other ways to get involved. Attend a meeting, host a safety training, weigh in on a regulatory issue or simply react to our messages on social media.
Just as important, encourage others in your company to join in and give them the time and support to participate. Not everyone will engage in the same way, and that’s fine. What matters is finding a way to be part of our work.
ICI is strong because of its members. Together, we can build on that strength in the years ahead. Thank you for being a part of it.
Sincerely,
Gene Lindley, James H. Drew Corporation
