Notice of Request for Comments on Rescission of EO 11246

The U.S. Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has posted a request for comments regarding a proposed rule to rescind Executive Order (EO) 11246. EO 11246 was revoked by President Donald Trump’s EO 14173  on Jan. 31. The EO 11246 prohibited covered federal contractors and subcontractors from discriminating in employment based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and national origin and required them to take affirmative action on those bases.

The OFCCP is proposing to remove the following parts:

41 CFR part 60-1: Obligations of Contractors and Subcontractors
41 CFR part 60-2: Affirmative Action Plans
41 CFR part 60-3 : Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection
41 CFR part 60-4: Construction Contractors – Affirmative Action Requirements
41 CFR part 60-20: Discrimination Based on Sex

The OFCCP is proposing to revise 41 CFR part 60-30: Rules of Practice for Administrative Proceedings to Enforce Under EO 11246. The proposed revision includes a revised part title striking “to Enforce Under E.O. 11246”.

Please consider submitting comments directly to the OFCCP by following the comment submittal procedure under the proposed rule summary section. Comments must be received by OFCCP by Sept. 2.

You can access the proposal on the Federal Register website or download a PDF.  You may also send your comments to Dan Osborn no later than Thursday, Aug. 28.

Nothing builds camaraderie quite like bowling, a little friendly competition and discovering who probably should not be trusted with an axe. 😂 The Seymour District ITT crew enjoyed meeting up at Hoosier Alley in Bloomington on Aug. 6 and building the relationships that make our industry stronger.

Thanks to our sponsors Janssen & Spaans Engineering, Michael Baker International and Milestone Contractors for supporting ITT and helping make the afternoon possible! #indianatransportationteam
