2018 ICI Scholarship Application Open

The application for the Indiana Constructors, Inc. Scholarship, administered by the Central Indiana Community Foundation has opened for the 2018-2019 school year. The application deadline is Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Indiana Constructors, Inc. and its members created the Indiana Constructors, Inc. Scholarship in 1998 to assist students interested in pursuing a career in the highway, bridge and/or utility construction industry. Over the years, our members have generously donated more than $400,000, including the proceeds from our annual golf outings. Last year ICI awarded 10 scholarships, totaling $35,000 – as much as $5,000 per award.

The scholarship is open to Indiana residents attending Hoosier colleges, universities or vocational, technical or trade schools. Applicants must plan to pursue — or currently be pursuing — a degree related to highway, bridge and/or the utility construction industry, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate talent and skill through participation in community and school activities and work experience.

Scholarships Develop Hoosier Workforce

As summer comes to an official close this week, and the kids have headed back to school, ICI extends its congratulations to our 2016 ICI Scholarship recipients – some of whom are starting their college journey this fall, while others are closing in on their degrees.

Our scholarship program is one of ICI’s top workforce development initiatives. By helping students pay for their college education, we are supporting the construction managers, engineers and safety professionals of the future. And, by connecting to the industry at the outset of student careers, we’re helping to build lasting ties to not only our industry, but to our organization as well.

In fact, at our 2016 Membership Meeting on Wednesday, November 2, you’ll have the chance to hear from one of our scholarship recipients. We’re inviting the rest to join us for the meeting, and we’re working on ways to build bridges with today’s scholars who will be tomorrow’s industry leaders.
