INDOT Storm Water Management Training

INDOT will conduct two Construction Storm Water Management Trainings on  from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 and Wednesday,  January 24, 2018 at the Traffic Management Center 8620 E. 21st St in Indianapolis. After attending the class, participants will have 30 days to enter into the INDOT University E-Learning site to finish the training and take an exam. Participants must attain 40 out of 50 correct on the exam to complete this training. Training is valid for 3 years from the class date and can be renewed online.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are enrolling individuals for your company, make sure to include the participant’s valid email address as it will be used for the online portion of the class.

Indiana Construction Roundtable Foundation (ICRF) is helping out with the Junior Achievement JobSpark! Program in Marion County September 26-27.  ICRF is looking for architecture/engineering/construction/interior design/landscape professionals who may be interested in volunteering at JA JobSpark.

JA JobSpark was designed to create a “spark” among eighth-grade students, introducing them to career clusters during a two-day, hands-on expo at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. ICRF is expecting more than 8,500 students to attend. In addition to the many general volunteers signed up to be a part of this event, ICRF is looking for approximately 200 construction industry volunteers who are excited to share their passion and expertise.

Volunteer Duties

  • Be knowledgeable of industry area you are representing
  • Communicate industry specific skills, education needed, jobs available, etc.
  • Assist cluster members with running hands-on activities, monitoring for safety
  • Ensures activity instructions are properly given and being followed
  • Industry specific talking points will be provided

AGC Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Application Now Open

Application deadline is November 1.

Each year the AGC Education and Research Foundation offers undergraduate and graduate level scholarships to students enrolled in ABET or ACCE accredited construction management or construction related engineering programs. The application opened July 1 and closes November 1. Over $10 million in scholarships have been awarded to more than 4,000 students attending colleges and universities across the country. Through endowments made by AGC members and supporters, as well as AGC Chapters, the Education and Research Foundation awards more than 100 scholarships each year to students dedicated to pursuing a career in the construction industry.
