INDOT to Share Final Refinements to I-69 Section 6
Three project update meetings scheduled for September

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation’s I-69 Section 6 project team will host series of project update meetings to share recent refinements to the preferred route of I-69 Section 6. The alternative will be known as the refined preferred alternative from the original preferred alternative released in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement in March 2017. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has reviewed the modifications prior to sharing with the public.

INDOT will host three update meetings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at:

  • Martinsville High School, 1360 E. Gray St. in Martinsville on Tuesday, Sept. 12
  • Perry Meridian High School, 401 W. Meridian School Rd. in Indianapolis on Wednesday, Sept. 13
  • Center Grove High School, 2717 S. Morgantown Rd. in Greenwood on Thursday, Sept. 14.

“The final refinements we’ll be sharing were based on feedback from INDOT planners, project stakeholders and the general public,” said Sarah Rubin, I-69 Section 6 Project Manager. “The project team has worked diligently to incorporate that input into a refined preferred alternative that reduces impacts in certain areas while meeting the purpose and need of the overall project.”

Comments about the refined preferred alternative will be accepted until September 26, 2017.

Comments can be submitted using a web form at www.in.gov/indot/projects/i69/2463.htm and by contacting I-69 Section 6 directly at section6pm@indot.in.gov. The public can also visit the I-69 Section 6 project office located at 7847 Waverly Road, Martinsville, IN 46151. The office is open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed on state holidays.
