According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), from 2012 to 2023, more than 38,984 people died in distraction-affected crashes. Even though drivers know that using their phone while driving is dangerous, they’re doing it anyway.
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and ICI encourages you to put your phone down to keep our workers and all drivers safe on the road. Here are some simple steps to help:
• Use a designated texter.
• Put your phone in the glove box while you drive.
• Remind your friends and family to do the same.
