BIC Matters: ACTION ALERT – We Need Road Funding Supporters to Pack the House Chamber Monday Morning

We realize this is late notice, but we are asking road funding advocates to pack the House Chamber Monday morning for a conference committee hearing on HB 1001. Chairman Ed Soliday (R-Valparaiso) has scheduled the hearing for Monday, March 7 at 9:00 a.m. in the House Chamber.

Plan to be at the Statehouse well before 9:00 a.m. because you will need to pass through security to enter the building. The hearing will probably last about two hours. The best access is on the east side of the Statehouse at the corner of Market and Capitol Streets in downtown Indianapolis.

Other conferees, in addition to Chairman Soliday are: Senator Luke Kenley (R-Noblesville), Rep. Dan Forestal (D-Indianapolis) and Sen. Karen Tallian (D-Portage). Click here for a list of additional advisors: (http://iga.in.gov/legislative/2016/committees/conference_committee_for_hb_1001).

BIC is working with our road funding partners to coordinate testimony for the hearing.  Meanwhile, road funding advocates will be asked to wear “Road Funding YES!” stickers as a show of support for enactment of long-term measures this year.  We will distribute stickers to you when you arrive at the House Chamber Monday morning.

If you or others from your company can attend, please RSVP this weekend to Vicki Kitchin at vkitchin@buildindianacouncil.org or (317) 439-2108.
