Today marks the start of National Work Zone Awareness Week as the Indiana Department of Transportation officially kicks off the 2026 construction season at a press event in Indianapolis.

Speaking at the event, ICI President Richard Hedgecock, CAE joins leaders from the Indiana Department of Transportation, the Indiana State Police, and the Indiana Laborers’ Union to highlight the importance of work zone safety as construction activity ramps up across the state.
