Work IN Roads

What began as a wide-ranging, industry workforce development collaboration spearheaded by ICI in 2018 has become the Work IN Roads program. Focused on sharing the opportunities and benefits of a career in the road construction industry, Work IN Roads engages high school students in the Civil Construction Career Pathway in a growing number of participating Indiana high schools.

By showing students (and their influencers) the rewarding careers available in the horizontal construction industry and developing teachers and curriculum to support hands-on learning, Work IN Roads is producing students who can effectively graduate on Friday and step into their career on Monday. ICI member companies are integral to this process, providing mentorship, program funding and on-the-job training opportunities.
