At Indiana Constructors, Inc. (ICI), we are committed to educating our next generation of workforce. We’ve partnered with other industry associations to create a collaborative initiative called Work IN Roads that educates the next generation on what our industry does and how they can start their career path.

What is Work IN Roads?

Work IN Roads is a collaborative initiative between government agencies, associations and businesses aimed to support those who contribute to our state’s infrastructure and to inform Hoosiers about the broad career paths available in the road construction industry. We support the pipeline by increasing awareness and connecting students to employers, ultimately providing better roads, better careers and a better living.

Why is Work IN Roads needed?

There is a huge labor shortage in construction, and that means high paying jobs are available! We educate the public, help member companies find workers, connect students to career paths, and provide parents and educators with the tools necessary to help inspire the next generation of workers in the field of construction.

ICI encourages Work IN Roads.

The purpose of the Work IN Roads is to create a collaborative effort of industry partners that educates the public, students, educators and parents about the numerous career paths available in road construction.

In other words, as a business in the construction industry, this initiative is for you! We know many of you struggle to hire the right talent–that’s why this is all about creating awareness for the jobs available and connecting you to the next generation of construction professionals.

If you are a member of ICI, then Work IN Roads Crew is for you!

What is the Work IN Roads Crew?

The WIR Crew members represent the heart and soul of the road construction industry in Indiana. These are the men and women who spend day in and day out ensuring that Hoosiers are safe and can get where they need to go. This crew gives an inside look into the everyday reality of what it’s like to work in this industry. Whether it’s a picture of your morning coffee, your fellow crew members, or progress on a big project, we want to see it all!

We also have opportunities for you to get in front of kids, and their key influencers, to tell them about the industry and your role!
